The Wellston Coal Festival is held the Tuesday thru Saturday after Labor Day on the downtown streets to celebrate Wellstons rich coal mining heritage. We offer an air conditioned motor coach tour of an actual working coal mine, a Karaoke Contest that pays 750.00 to the winner, Go-cart races, Lawnmower Races, Coal Miner Olympics, a Wednesday parade and a Saturday Grand Parade, Baby and Toddler Contests, Car and motorcycle Show, Youth Day activities, line dancing, Free entertainment nightly featuring popular Nashville entertainers.
