| Description |
The Tulip Tree Trail starts at the restrooms in the Valley View picnic area of the Hambleton Day Use Area. It winds through the woods on the hilltop, following paths that were laid out when the Hambleton area was part of the OSU Barneby Center for Environmental Education. You may see old trail markers that Barneby instructors set out for their natural resources students.
Along the trail you'll see tulip poplar trees with trunks more than four feet in diameter. You'll also see many old hemlocks and large colonies of ferns. The old trail is indistinct in places, so keep an eye on where you're heading. |
